Modelshop Internship

BIG Barcelona Office is looking for a talented and proactive student with a particular interest in model making and a good eye for detail to join our in-house model shop.

As the Model shop Intern, you will support and produce different types of physical models (from sketch models to high-quality presentation models) using different digital and manual techniques in collaboration with our architectural project teams. You will also help maintain a functional and organized workshop.

NB: Please only apply if your internship can run for a minimum of 6 months.

As an Model Shop Intern at BIG, you will:
- Support and produce physical scaled models and help on fabrication
- Maintain a functional workshop taking care of our facilities
- Work on a variety of models, from quick sketches to final presentation models
- Work closely with our Architecture teams

Requirements:
- Experience combining different materials and techniques of making
- Excellent skills on 3D modelling (Rhino)
- Experience with 3D-printing and laser cutting. CNC is a plus
- Knowledge of alternate making methods such as mould-making, plaster casting
- A noted attention to detail and interest in quality craft
- Be a current student and won't graduate during your internship
- Be fluent in English
- Available for at least 6 months
