Scenic Workshop Supervisor

We’re looking for an experienced Scenic Build and Workshop Specialist with a background in theatre, events, or exhibitions. You should have expert skills in carpentry, metalwork, CNC programming, and CAD software (e.g., Vectorworks, AutoCAD), along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and manage production workflows. Strong communication, adaptability, and a proactive attitude are key, as is a commitment to health and safety.

A full UK driving licence (Category B) and experience with CNC machinery & Graphics are advantageous. You’ll be a team player, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the scenic workshop to ensure timely and accurate construction of scenery.
Coordinate with the Projects and Operations teams to understand scenic requirements for upcoming events.
Lead the fabrication, painting, and assembly of scenic elements.
Maintain health and safety standards within the workshop.
Manage workshop schedules to meet tight installation deadlines.
Source materials and liaise with suppliers as needed.
Ensure quality control throughout all stages of scenic construction.
Support on-site installation and dismantling when required.
Maintain scenic furniture, props, and equipment to company standards.
Manage stock levels, parts, and consumables, ensuring timely sub-hire returns.
Enforce operational procedures, health and safety policies, and risk assessments.
Provide out-of-hours support and advice to the Projects team and clients.
Load, unload, and handle heavy/bulky equipment as required.
Drive continuous improvement in workshop layout, workflow, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with other teams to support business activities.
Represent the company professionally with clients, crew, and suppliers.
