Job Description
Working as part of a team of multi skilled technicians, the postholder provides high quality support for teaching and research in the Faculty of Engineering and Design. The successful applicant should have some experience of laser cutting, CNC routing, 3D printing and relevant CADCAM software packages as applied to architectural modelling.
A large part of the role will involve using knowledge and experience to advise students and other stakeholders, including researchers, to aid them in the development of design briefs and subsequent construction and completion of their projects. An interest or experience in creating architectural models would be beneficial.
The team is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for students and colleagues while contributing to the teaching and supervision of students during laboratory sessions and project activities.
This is an entry level role and as such, hands-on training is provided to ensure the postholder develops high level technical skills alongside in-depth discipline-specific knowledge.
This position is offered on a full time (36.5 hours), open ended basis.
