A working miniature display model of Piers Morgan's fantasy 'Piers' Pier; for the award-winning ad campaign by AMV BBDO.

Commissioned by the Scott Polar Research Institute Cambridge, this miniature sledge is a replica of a model made by second-in-command Lieutenant Edward ‘Teddy’ Evans on Captain Robert Falcon Scott's British Antarctic Terra Nova Expedition 1910-13.

A mechanical automated whirligig for Cadbury's Twirl Bites advert, brought to creation by agency Fallon London, production by Hsi, and Art Direction by Dan Betteridge. The whirligig featured rotating micro-scenarios and characters designed to bring to life the joy of twirling.

The iconic landmark Runestone Castle as a tabletop miniature, one of several vfx miniatures and elements we created for HBO's multi award-winning Games of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon (2022).

At the time of filming the Rosslyn Chapel (the Collegiate Chapel of St Matthew) was going through restoration, therefore was covered in scaffolding and a roof protection. In the absence of a usable location, Mattes & Miniatures were called upon to build a 1:10 scale miniature of the chapel. The model was highly detailed with faceted stain glass windows for added realism.

Mattes & Miniatures were honoured to realise the vision of artist Philip Haas, fabricating four monumental portrait busts for exhibition 'The Four Seasons'. These are 3-dimensional interpretations of the Italian Renaissance painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo’s portrait series of the same name.

Three permanent outdoor Chinese ‘Gongshi’ rock sculptures for The Cosmic House in Holland Park, the house museum of renowned architecture historian and cultural theorist Charles Jencks.
