Dates: This workshop will run for five days from Monday 16th February 2026 until Friday 20th February 2026. Age Range: 14 – 19 years old. If the workshop becomes oversubscribed, we will close the application process early.

Workshop Information
Course outline

For this workshop students will be taught techniques including shaping, bending, hammering, sawing, soldering, texturing and enamelling. Materials used will include silver, copper and brass.

Enamel is a material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 °C. The powder melts, flows, and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating. The word comes from the Latin vitreum, meaning “glass”.



Meet the Tutors

Creative Dimension Trust tutor Paul Ravn is an expert jeweller, fellow of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths’ and former staff member at London Metropolitan University Jewellery School, the Cass.

Creative Dimension Trust tutor Tomiko Ravn is a specialist enameller with associated jewellery expertise.



Timings

This workshop will start daily at 10am and finish at approximately 4:30pm.

This workshop will be held at The Goldsmiths’ Centre in London. The Goldsmiths’ Centre is the UK’s leading charity for the professional training of goldsmiths, offers silversmithing and jewellery courses in London.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible to apply you will need to be 14 – 19 years old during the dates of the workshop.

You should be creative and have an interest in the careers listed above, or similar areas. You should also have good hand-eye co-ordination.

In your application you should demonstrate a passion for working with your hands.

You must be able to attend every day of the workshop.

Course Funding

Our workshops are fully-funded by generous sponsors. Places are limited, therefore, we recommend you submit your application as early as possible.
