I enjoy working with wood both structurally and sculpturally and I am aiming to work as a generalist, working with a range of materials and techniques to create a finished product, after graduating I would love to work in set building and creature design, but I am willing to work in most areas of the industry.

Model 1

Secretary Bird Puppet for theater based off the film Flow.

The body is made from plywood, wire for structure and covered in faux fur. The head is cast in polyurethane resin from a RTV silicone mould with a two part fiberglass jacket. I have also punched feathers around the head to create free movement and larger hand made feathers for their characteristic look. Built for a stage show of the film Flow, the puppet stands slightly larger than life size. Its mechanisms are inspired by bird anatomy and has working tendons to help the legs move in a naturalistic way. It is puppeted by being strapped to the body and then controlled through a variety of poles and break cables.

Jim Henson style Muppet Puppet of Egyptian God Seth.

The puppet depicts the Egyptian God Seth and is made in the style of a Jim Henson style Muppet puppet. Made from reticulated foam and plastazote, glued with contact adhesive and skinned in black fleece which has been mostly hand sewn using the Henson stitch. the puppet is a glove and rod puppet with its movement coming from a hand in its head and two rods controlling the hands and arms.
