Job Description
Introduction -
For over 40 years David Fawcett Limited has been producing high quality yacht models from a workshop on the coast of the Lleyn Peninsular in North Wales. The company makes models of all types of yachts for discerning customers and delivers these all over the world.
We are now looking for someone to join our very busy team of 5 modelmakers.
Job description β
This will be a full-time (36.5 hours per week) modelmaking role, based in our workshop in Pwllheli. The work will be highly detailed and varied and everything will need to be done to the highest quality and to meet our own internal deadlines. You will be working as a part of team, but with clear individual responsibilities as well.
The job will incorporate all aspects of modelmaking, including working with 3D software and with 3D printing and CNC machines. It will also involve operating machinery, using hand tools to do intricate work, finishing parts to a very high standard, spray painting and final assembly work.
We would also be happy to discuss fixed term contracts and freelance opportunities.
Requirements -
We are looking for a highly motivated person who has experience and skills in all aspects of modern modelmaking. We need someone who can work to the highest standards, is used to doing detailed and intricate work and has a very high level of attention to detail. The ideal person will be patient and organised and someone who takes care in all parts of their work. We are looking for someone who is willing and eager to learn, who is not afraid to take on new challenges, who enjoys working in a close team but can work independently as well, who works well under pressure and has good communication skills.
An interest in yachts would be bonus, but this is not an essential requirement.
