Job Description

Wake The Tiger is a radical creative company born in the South West and the visionary force behind the world’s first Amazement Park®. We fuse immersive art, storytelling, and purpose to create unforgettable experiences that disrupt the norm and ignite transformation.

Following the success of our Bristol site, we’ve expanded to London in 2026 with an all-new immersive world designed to spark imagination and challenge perception on a whole new scale.

Our mission is simple: We create immersive experiences for everyone, where art, storytelling and purpose collide - to inspire change today that transforms the world tomorrow.

Our vision is to: INSPIRE. DISRUPT. BELIEVE. For a better world.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Prop Maker to join our team delivering new projects & maintaining the London park.

As Prop Maker you will have a good knowledge of prop-making processes, understand how to interpret designs from a creative team and have a keen eye for high quality finishing across all areas of making. Most importantly, you will be a hands-on generalist who is comfortable trying different approaches and working across a variety of materials and techniques rather than specialising in just one area.

You will need to be confident working to a brief but also able to interpret and visualise ideas whilst adding valuable input based on your own experience and knowledge. The ability to problem solve and have an eye for visual storytelling will be advantageous as well as being resourceful with your creations. You will be part of the R&D process to develop ideas and create techniques that work for the brief.

Working closely with the Creative and Production teams and other departments, you will help bring designs to life in a busy, evolving attraction. You will also contribute to workshop upkeep and ongoing maintenance across the park, considering the needs of a live visitor environment.

You’ll be Responsible For

Working with a range of materials to create props and scenery using mostly recycled materials or props.

Interpreting creative briefs, technical drawings, written and verbal instructions, and visual references to translate concepts into practical, creative, and achievable making solutions.

Contributing practical ideas to making when solutions are required.

Creating props and scenic elements to the required quality standards, with appropriate attention to appearance, functionality, durability and safety.

Collaboratively working with the Creative, Production and other departments to bring designs and ideas to life.

Experimenting with tools, materials and methods; contributing to research and development, prototypes, new techniques and ideas for upgrades.

Carrying out ongoing maintenance, repairs and improvements throughout the park considering visitor safety and experience.

Keeping work areas organised and contributing to the upkeep, cleanliness and maintenance of the workshop.

Maintaining awareness of tools, materials and consumables, flagging shortages, damaged equipment or maintenance requirements to the appropriate person.

Preparing materials and tool lists for assigned builds where required, and communicating stock needs in good time.

Following agreed project priorities and communicating progress, potential delays, material shortages or other issues that may affect delivery, quality or safety.

Following workshop health and safety procedures, using tools and equipment safely, adhering to relevant COSHH requirements, using appropriate PPE, and promptly reporting hazards or risks.

Adapting to changing creative and operational requirements while maintaining a calm, practical and productive approach.

You’ll Bring the Following to Our Team

Good knowledge of prop-making processes, materials and methods of construction.

Competence across a wide variety of scenic methods and finishes.

Confidence using hand tools and power tools safely.

Experience working in a busy workshop, managing multiple projects or tasks at the same time.

The ability to interpret and visualise briefs, including drawings, written instructions, verbal direction and visual references.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a resourceful and practical approach.

The ability to work independently on assigned projects and contribute effectively to collaborative builds.

Good time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.

A calm, adaptable and productive approach when priorities change or challenges arise.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work to the required standard.

Clear communication skills, including the ability to flag issues, risks or resource needs promptly.

A collaborative, team-focused attitude and willingness to experiment with unfamiliar materials or techniques.
