OuterWorlds Mounted Sprat Head

I first Sculpted in Oil based clay, then using RTV Silicone created silicone mould starting with a drip coat, then adding a thixotropic coat for structure and finally a two part fibreglass jacket.

This was then cast with polyurethane resin and fillite - a filler powder I used to reduce the weight. The ears were created by a combination of worbla and epoxy putty.

I then painted it with a combination of airbrushing and hand brushing techniques, finally coating in a satin clear coat and adding gloss to the mouth and eyes.

The plaque was created out of Mdf sanded up to 1200 grit. the surface was then primed, painted and sealed to create a smooth finish, the outer edge was then gilded with imitation goldleaf and then sealed.

The sculpt was created in oil based clay, sculpting on top of a polysculpted armature, a mould was then created from RTV silicone, this then required a three part fibreglass jacket. This was then slush cast out of Polyurethane resin with Fillite to cut down on weight.

The Horns were created in the same fashion but filled with a rigid expanding polyurethane foam, these had threaded rod set in place so they can be removed for transport.

For the plaque I created a large circle out of Mdf, routered the edge and sanded up to 1200 grit, this was then primed, painted, then coated in a satin varnish.

Oversized Pimento Olive

Oversized pimento olive

A 14:1 scale polysculpt of an Olive, complete with oversized cocktail stick, it was created by polysculpting the shape, adding a scrim layer created from muslin cloth and Pva for rigidity.

Flintex and filler was then added to build a smooth up a smooth layer ready for painting, the cocktail stick was created on the lathe and finished with beeswax.

I specialise in sculpting, design work and painting/finishing.
I mostly work in reductive sculpture and I am skilled in polysculpture and foamcrafting, I also have skills in CAD design work and lasercutting.
Using these skills I like to create creatures often in the form of mounted heads, but would love to work on full scale creatures, polysculpts and promotional props.
