This is a 1:30 scale model of the birth MK1 tank prototype, specifically the male variant (with the 57mm cannons) and featuring a canopy and tail.
Mk1 tank- front view
This Mk1 model is made in a 1:30 scale. It is primarily constructed from sheets of acrylic. The acrylic parts of this model where first drawn in Rhinoceros 8 and then laser cut from 5mm, 2mm and 1mm sheets. Acrylic parts where assembled using plastic weld and plastic bonder. The sponsons where built in Rhinoceros 8 and FDM 3D printed.
The assembled model was base coated using a blue grey acrylic splay. Gun metal acrylic paint, burnt umber acrylic paint, and modelling mud was used to add the details and colouring to finish it off.

I have focused mainly on making props and miniatures, using tools such as band saws, Laser cutters, lathes and milling machines, as well as programs such as Rhinoceros 8 and illustrator. I aim to find work in the films industry as a prop maker or set dresser.
