The model is to be displayed within Merrivale Model Village. The boat's hull and cabin frame was designed on Rhino and then produced from a combination of 3D printing and laser cutting. The model is made from predominantly PLA and acrylic plastic. Some of the accessories are hand crafted and some are 3D printed, such as the buoys, and are then hand painted. The weathering was achieved with a variety of methods, such as layering washes of brown acrylic paint. In addition, to achieve the appearance of an eroding boat hull, a base colour of rust orange was first applied and then salt crystals where added before spray painting.

The model was hand sculpted in clay. A two-part jacket mould was made from the sculpt and it was then rotary cast in fast cast. This was then taped off and painted with cellulose paint and finished with a combination of gloss and matte finish.

My work was primarily sculptural, which transitioned into more hard-edge modelmaking at AUB. My experiences have cultivated a diverse making practice, combining sculptural and technical approaches. My time at Foster & Partners expanded on this knowledge, giving insight into architectural modelmaking. Aardman Animations allowed me to acquire a different skill set and gain insight into stop-motion production. I am open to a variety of work, with a particular interest in the film and TV industry.
