A process shot of me detailing my bar for the Winchester pub.
1st Model
Exhibition & DisplayA 1:12 scale diorama of The Winchester pub from Shaun of the dead intended as a historical/ pop culture representative model.
This is a 1:12 miniature of the Winchester pub from Shaun of the dead. The miniature uses a wide range of materials and processes including 3D printing, wood work, laser cutting and textured painting.
I used laser cutting for the main pieces from different materials such as grey board for the floor, acrylic for the bar, wall panels and shelving unit, and MDF for the more specific furniture pieces. I used 3D printing for detail pieces such as the bar pillars, dado rail and rim on the pub fruit machine, I also 3D printed the pool table as I wanted to challenge myself to make a larger model completely using CAD. As I had used CAD frequently during the project, I used the furniture as evidence of my hand skills when wood working. I also cast resin bottles for detailing of the bar.
2nd Model
Architecture & Structure Exhibition & DisplayA 1:12 scale Shepherds hut designed to replicate the Hobbit holes from Lord of the rings. This model is intended to be used as part of a model village.
This model is a Hobbit hut themed shepherds hut meant to be apart of a model village. The model is made from weather resistant materials and is decorated internally and externally.
As this project is meant to be used in a model village, it needed to be made to withstand any damage caused by being left outside. I purposefully didn't use materials like wood or 3D printing as wood runs the risk of rotting and 3D prints run the risk of melting in the heat. Any wood detail was cast in fast cast as it will last externally. The main structure was made of laser cut acrylic, as it will last outside and I was able to engrave the details I wanted. The outer shell of the hut is sculpted milliput as it is extremely weather resistant and will help keep the model secure, but it also makes the walls look more naturally as if they were made with real plaster.
3rd Model
Exhibition & Display Events & AwardsA mad hatter themed centrepiece intended to be used at an Alice in Wonderland themed event
This model is designed to be a centrepiece for an Alice in Wonderland themed event. The model depicts references to easily recognisable characters from the story and the iconic mad hatter tea part.
I used vac formed styrene to create the cups used in this project as it made them light weight and inexpensive, it also made it easy to add the Milliput handles later on. The hat was 3D printed to supply structure and a smooth, even shape. Because this model needed a sturdy foundation, I cut a large MDF base that I draped in polka dot fabric to resemble a table cloth. To make this model easy to transport, a threaded rod runs through the whole piece and can be taken apart easily. The rod is hidden by the resin tea spill in the top cup.

This is the resin print for the miniature Winchester rifle seen behind the bar. The rifle sits at roughly 95mm long and has laser cut triggers made of 1mm acrylic.
This is an enlarged pocket watch to be used in a fantasy/ historical setting. The detailed cover was sculpted and finished in fiberglass.
A miniature chair made from both CAD design and hand skills, the arm rest was laser cut while the legs and supports were detailed by hand.
This is a side angle of my editorial model for "the AI revolution" depicting an old man lose a chess game to a robot.
This process shot shows the un painted version of the mad hatter centrepiece.
