Miniature Model Making (February '27)

Throughout this five-day course, participants will gain hands-on experience in the techniques and processes used to design, construct, and finish miniature models for professional film and television productions. The course introduces the principles of working at scale and explores how materials, fabrication techniques, texture, colour, and detailing can be combined to create convincing miniature environments, structures, and objects for the screen.

Participants will develop an understanding of the role miniature model making plays within film and television production, from supporting production design and visualisation through to creating highly detailed models and miniature elements for use on camera. Particular attention will be given to scale, proportion, accuracy, and the level of detail required to make a miniature appear believable when filmed.
